Chapter 47

Insertion of the Blade | The Testimony of the Noorpuri Sayyid

As night falls, the Mughal officers order their chef to prepare a feast for the "Pir" and his followers, unaware that the Pir is actually Guru Gobind Singh in disguise.

The Guru convinces the officers that the Pir is on a religious fast and can only eat one meal a day, and is excused from the meal. However, the Khan brothers and the remaining three Singhs must participate in the feast. The Singh’s became worried that their rehat would be compromised, thus, Guru Ji gives them special instructions to insert a dagger into the meat before consuming anything.

To further test the authenticity of the Pir from Uch, the Mughal officers invite a trusted Sayyid from the nearby village of Noorpuri to testify. The Sayyid, a servant of Khuda, recognizes Guru Gobind Singh's disguise and speaks in defence of the Pir, warning the Mughal officers of the danger of detaining a holy man.

As tensions rise, the Guru, disguised as Uch Da Pir, advances in their travels, narrowly avoiding capture.

Will they be able to maintain their cover and escape, or will their true identities be revealed?
