Chapter 16

The Baraat Returns | The Thief

The doli is en route to the Guru's abode in Anandpur, where Mata Gujari Ji waits in fervent anticipation.

Amidst the celebratory hum of wedding festivity, Mata Gujri Ji leads the newlyweds, Guru Gobind Singh, and Mata Jito Ji, in a profound Ardaas to Guru Tegh Bahadur, the revered martyr of Dharma.

Can you envisage a Guru of such nature? A Guru whose love for truth surpassed his love for life itself? A Guru who, without a second thought, embraced the reality of never (physically) reuniting with his young son in this realm.

Today, Guru Gobind Singh invokes Ardaas to their revered Guru Father: “Be ever near, remain perpetually by my side, and be my support in all the days to come. You are the embodiment of serenity and the bestower of auspiciousness and bliss.”

Like Ram Chandra illuminating the city of Ayodhya with divine bliss... the wedding of Mata Jito Ji and Guru Gobind Singh bathes Anandpur in joyful light! At this moment, the city flickers with the light of warmly lit diva lamps.

Suddenly, this jubilant atmosphere is shattered by cries of despair. A distraught businessman, lamenting the loss of his wealth, intrudes abruptly! All his earnings were pilfered! The man, who risked everything to come to Anandpur, is now plunged into unparalleled agony. If he fails to retrieve his money, his family, livelihood, and business face dire straits.

The omniscient Guru intervenes, his soothing words a healing balm, his insights unraveling the clandestine mystery and revealing the concealed sin within the shadows.
