Chapter 18
The radiant Satguru, in Anandpur, unveils a mystical tale, illuminating the link between a bear's current life and the deeds of its past.
Amidst his devout Sikhs, the illustrious Satguru witnesses a bear's torment by its tamer, eliciting wonder from a a 16 year old Sikh, Kiratia, who questions the creature's karmic journey. In a revelation that stuns all the Sikhs, the Guru proclaims the bear was once Kiratia's father. Kiratia could not believe the words he was hearing!
“My father served you devotedly, performed the Ardaas, and distributed the Prashaad. He remained in the esteemed presence of the ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, serving him profoundly. If someone like him receives such a form, then why would anyone want to take up dharma and seva understanding this fate?”
Amidst the shock, Kiratia seeks clarity on his father's transformation and pleads for his salvation.
Recounting the unfortunate series of events that led to Bhai Gurdas — his father — receiving a curse, the Guru demonstrates his boundless compassion, ultimately setting the bear's soul free after feeding in Panchamrit (Karrah Prashad).
